New York, September 12th, 1882
Dear Sisters,
We arrived at
midnight in New Jersey and re-
mained at the Windsor Hotel until
this morning. It was raining
very hard and our train was
3 hours late. We are staying with
the Dominican Sisters on Second Street
and can remain until we learn
[?] The Sisters are very kind to us.
There is no use saying anything
about my health. I must [?]
[?] to keep the [?] away.
The prayers of the dear Sisters are
my only hope. I saw a doctor
at the Hospital, he thinks I have gall
stones; [?] in my system.
He said, not to travel in countries
where there is fevers. I also had
the [?], but that was the least.
