at night receive a letter
from home wrote to Mr
Thos Smith Need six
hundrid testaments from
the Bible house in Baltimore
distributed 200 to the
right wing this afternoon
saw two men playing
cards with two boys
reproved them for doing
so read the 1 timothy
and second chapter and
retired cold no better

7 oclock the report of a gun
in one of the tents and the
screaming of a man in
distress brought me to
the tent and low a man
was shot through the
head he lived but a
few minutes. Shot by
one of his own company
by accident the man
