My first is a preposition; my second is a noun,
much used by ladies in warm weather, and behind
which "Jennie Wren" is said to have blushed, when
she replied to the proposal of "Cock Robin". My
third is a verb, very useful to every body; indeed
we can never accomplish anything great or good
or useful without its aid. My whole is a body of
armed men, who usually fight on foot.
