I William Evans do hereby certify that the record of the annexed
instrument purporting to be for my signature and approval of laying
out Blocks No. 7 & 8 in the annexed plat was done thus far without my
knowledge or conset and which I do protest against
May 11th 1842

Know all men by these presents that we Merritt L. Covell and J. W. Fell. both of the County of
McLean state of Illinois do in conformity with the laws of said state lay off a part
of the west half of the south east quarter of section number Four (4) in Tonwship No. Twenty
three (23) North of Range. No. two (2) East of the 3rd principal meridian into town lots and
streets as an addition to the town of Bloomington to be denominated Evans Addition as
laid out and Exhibited in the annexed plot being Blocks number one (1) two (2) three (3)
four (4) five (5) and six (6) of said addition. Blocks two (2) three (3) and six (6) Each contain twelve (12) lots
one hundred and twenty (120) feet in length north & south and sixty (60) feet in width East and West.
Blocks number one (1) four (4) and five (5) Each contain twelve (12) lots. One hundred and twenty (120)
feet in length north and South by sixty (60) feet in width East and west, the lots and blocks are numbered
as in the annexed plot. Front and Washington streets are each eigthty (80) feet wide Jefferson sixty
six (66) feet North thirty three (33) Locust as much as there of as is laid off by said Covell and Fell
Twenty seven (27) feet. McLean Sixty (60) feet and Evans thirty (30) feet. the ground is all of
which is hereby donated for public purpose at the S.E. Corner of Block No. Five (5) a stone is
planted from which to make future surveys.
