This Deed Made this the 16th day of October 1928 by Florence W. Harriss of Guilford County and State of North Carolina, party of the first part, to J. Welch Harriss of Guilford County and State of North Carolina, party of the second part: Witnesseth, That the said party of the first part, in consideration of ($10.00) Ten & no/100 Dollars to her paid by the said party of the second part, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, has bargained and sold, and by these presents does bargain, sell and convey unto the said party of the second part and his heirs a tract or parcel of land in the county of Guilford and State of North Carolina, in High Point Township, adjoining the lands of E. H. C. Fields Est., Harriss and others, and bounded as follows:

BEGINNING at an iron stake, the north-east corner of Mrs. J. W. Harriss lot and the south-east corner of E. H. C. Fields Ests lot; thence in an easterly direction, a continuation of Harriss-Fields line, about 20 feet to the West line of Wrenn Street; thence south along said line of Wrenn Street, 26 feet; thence west about 20 feet to a stake, Harriss and Millis corner; thence north along Mrs. Harriss line, 26 feet to the beginning, containing 520 square feet, more or less.

The above land was conveyed to grantor by A. Sherrod & Lizzie Sherrod See Book No. 393, Page 138, etc.

To have and to hold the aforesaid tract or parcel of land and all privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging to the said party of the second part and his heirs and assigns forever.

And the said party of the first part does covenant that she is seized of said premises in fee and has the right to convey the same in fee simple; that the same are free from incumbrances; and that she will warrant and defend the said title to the same against the claims of all persons whatsoever.

I, Jay J. Dell a Notary Public of said County, do hereby certify that Florence W. Harriss grantors, personally appeared before me this day and acknowledged the execution of the foregoing deed of conveyance, and the said Florence W. Harriss (a widow) being by me privately examined, separate and apart from her said husband, touching her voluntary execution of the same, doth state that she signed the same freely and voluntarily, without fear or compulsion of her said husband or any other person, or that she doth still voluntarily assent thereto. Let the said deed and this certificate be registered.
