This Indenture Made this the 23rd Day of April
in the year Eighteen Hundred and Sixty-nine between William Welch [(Sr.)?]
and wife Elizabeth Welch of the County of
Guilford and State of North Carolina
of the first part, and Austin H. Welch of the County of Mecklenburg
and State of North Carolina of the second part: WITNESSETH, that the said
party of the first part, for and in consideration of the sum of fifteen hundred
DOLLARS, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, have given,
granted, bargained, sold and conveyed, and do hereby give, grant, bargain, sell and convey to the said party of the
second part all that tract or parcel of land, lying in the County of Guilford, Town of High Point
and State of North Carolina bounded as follows: Adjoining
the Lot belonging to J. Q. Pitts. Beginning at
a Stone Pitts corner, Thence N36 22° W. Seventy six
feet to a stone, thence N 53 1/2° E two hundred feet
thence S 36 1/2° E seventy six feet to a Stone Pitts
corner, thence S 53 1/2° W two hundred feet to the
beginning 1520 square feet

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the same with the appurtenances thereunto belonging to him the said party of the
second part his heirs and assigns forever. And the said party of the first part, for the consideration aforesaid,
do hereby covenant and agree to WARRENT and DEFEND the premises aforesaid, to the said party of the second
part, his Heirs, Executors, Administrators and Assigns, against the claim, and entry of all persons whatever,
and they do futher covenant, that they are seized of the premises in fee simple, and have power to make
and convey such an Estate by this Indedture, and have done the same by these presents.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the said parties of the first part do hereunto set their hands and seals on
the day and year above written.
