March 20, 1926.

The High Point Church met on Saturday before the third Sun
day in March 1926, and after devine services by our moderators
Elders P. J. Washburn and J. W. Tuttle, proceeded to business
as follows:

1. Reference called for but there was none.
2. Peace of the church was called for, and it was
stated that the church was not in order to transact
business. It was discussed pro and con, from both
sides, but Bro. Sanders Dennis finaly ruled to hold
conference.
3. Bro. Sanders Dennis made a motion to adopt the Resolu-
tion in the church, as was passed by the Salem Associa-
tion at our last sitting, thus ; " We the Salem Assoc-
iation declare that the sovereignity of the church
must be retained and any member or members excluded
from the church stands excluded from all churches,
and that any church or member or minister who aff-
iliated with the excluded ministers is in disorder."
4. It was moved and seconded that the rules of decorum
be read. After the decorum was read Bro. Dennis requ-
ested that Elder Washburn make some acknowledgement
for letting a motion that was made last meeting
pass by without taking a vote. Elder Washburn said he thought the
motion was withdrawn. Bro. Dennis said he withdrew
the motion, but the second was not withdrawn. Then,
Elder Washburn stated that when a motion was with-
drawn by consent of the second the second did not
have to be withdrawn.
5. Then Bro. Dennis moved and Deacon Hedrick second
the motion to release Elder Washburn as moderator,
for taking part with the Wilson faction. 15 opposed
and 17 were in favor. Elder Washburn asked Bro.
Dennis to prove his charges or withdraw them, and
Bro. Dennis told Bro. Hedrick to state the charge.
Bro. Hedrick stated that Elder Washburn told him that
he endorsed the doctren that Wilson and Pruett preach-
ed, and said that he was at one of their meetings and
shook hands with them. Then, Deacon Hicks asked
Deacon Hedrick if he did not endorse the doctren that
Elders Wilson and Pruett preached and he said he did,
then, he asked him if he had been there would he have
shaken hands with Elders Wilson and Pruett, and Hedric
said he suppose he would have.
6. Then Elder Washburn asked the clerk to record the
charge, and the clerk asked Bro. Hedrick if he must
put it "doctren", and he said yes; the clerk told him
that that would ruin them, but Deacon Hicks said,
"Record it as they said."
7. Then Deacon Hicks rose and said he stood for the doctr-
en of the Bible and the discipline of the Baptist at
large, and those who desired to take the same
stand as that of Bro. Hicks, stood up. The following
are the names of the members who stood with Bro.
Hicks.
