This Deed Made this the 1st day of Dec 1922 by V. L. Cook and his wife Fay Cook of Guilford county and State of North Carolina, parties of the first part, to A. H. Idol of Guilford County and State of North Carolina, party of the second part:

Witnesseth, That the said parties of the first part, in consideration of ($10.00) and other valuable considerations to them paid by the said party of the second part, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, have bargained and sold, and by these presents do bargain, sell and convey unto the said party of the second part and his heirs a tract or parcel of land in the County of Guilford and State of North Carolina, in High Point Township, adjoining the lands of Henry Pitts, Stevenson and others, and bounded as follows:

Being Lot #4 in Block "A" in J. N. Campbell division of N. E. Welborn lands, which plat is duly recorded in the Register of Deeds Office for Guilford County, N. C., in Book #2, Page 58. This Lot is 64 1/2 feet front on Church Street, and 64 1/2 feet in rear, and bounded as follows: Beginning at a stake on Church Street, South-West corner of Lot #5, thence with said street South 62 degrees 30 minutes West 64 1/2 feet to a stake; thence North 23 degrees 30 minutes West 82 feet to a stake; thence North 78 degrees East 64 1/2 feet to a stake; thence South 23 degrees 30 minutes East 75 1/2 feet to the beginning

The above land was conveyed to grantor by W. B. McFarland & wife See Book No. 386, Page 407, etc.

To have and to hold the aforesaid tract or parcel of land and all privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging to the said party of the second part and his heirs and assigns forever.

And the said parties of the first part do covenant that they are seized of said premises in fee and have the right to convey the same in fee simple; that the same are free from incumbrances; and that they will warrant and defend the said title to the same against the claims of all persons whatsoever.

In Testimony Whereof, the said parties of the first part have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.

STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA—Guilford County.

I, W. G. Brown Justice of the Peace of said County, do hereby certify that V. L. Cook and his wife Fay Cook grantors, personally appeared before me this day and acknowledged the execution of the foregoing deed of conveyance, and the said Fay Cook being by me privately examined, separate and apart from her said husband, touching her voluntary execution of the same, doth state that she signed the same freely and voluntarily, without fear or compulsion of her said husband or any other person, and that she doth still voluntarily assent thereto. Let the said deed and this certificate be registered.

STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA—Guilford County. 1, [blank] of said County, do hereby certify that [blank] grantor, personally appeared before me this day and acknowledged the execution of the foregoing deed. Let the deed and this certificate be registered.
