February 14, 1939

The regular meeting of the Elm Street School Parent Teacher Association was held in the school auditorium with the president, Mrs. Hartley, presiding. As a devotional the group was led in prayer by Mr. Thomas E. Dodamead. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. The treasurer's report, which showed a balance of $22.71, was read and accepted. Mrs. Percy Payne, Founder's Day Chairman, was in charge of the program which consisted of a group of songs by some of the sixth grade pupils, and a Founder's Day address by Rev. F. L. Conrad, pastor of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church.

March 28, 1939

Preceeding the regular meeting of the Elm Street Parent Teacher Association on March 28, 1939, the local orchestra played several selections. Then the president, Mrs. Hartley, called the meeting to order and the minutes of the last meeting were read and accepted. The treasurer's report, showing a deficit of $3.69 was read and accepted. Mrs. Edwards, magazine chairman, reported twelve subscriptions to the Parent Teacher Magazine.

The program chairman, Mrs. Schroder, presented a musical program. There was a group of songs by the third grades under the direction of Miss Hazel Welborn, and a group by the fourth grades under the direction of Mrs. J. J. Hamlin

The speaker for the evening was Mr. Carl G. M. Cronstedt, who talked on "Music in the School, in the Home, and in the Community."

May 10, 1939

The regular meeting of the Parent Teacher Association was held in the school auditorium on May 10, 1939. All business was dispensed with. The program was in the charge of the three sixth grades who unveiled and presented to Elm Street School an oil portrait of Robert E. Lee. The following program was given:
