March 12, 1935.
The March meeting of the Elm St. P. T. A. was held in the auditorium of the Elm St. School on Mar. 12, 1935.
Mrs. H. I. Coffield. the president, called the meeting to order. After an invocation by Dr. A. B. Conrad, the minutes were read and the treasurer's report given. A balance of $5.00 was reported in the treasury.
In the absence of Mrs. McGeehee, the pre-school clinic chairman, a report of the clinic was given by Mrs. Schroder.
Mrs. Edgar Hartley told of the new shrubbery to be purchased and planted on the school grounds by the Burbank Garden Club.
Mrs. Cottam made an announce-

ment of the state convention to be held in Asheville, and asked members to attend.
Mrs. Coffield asked the citizens to contact their state representatives at Raleigh in regard to the school appropriation.
After the grade count the meeting was turned over to Mrs. Ingram, the program chairman. Mrs. Rawley's grade gave a health circus in connection with the announcement about the pre-school clinic. Mrs. Ingram then presented Dr. Conrad, whose excellent talk on "Importance of Character in the Growth and Development of the Child" brought out the thought that character is the true aim of all education.

The final P. T. A. meeting of the year was held in the auditorium at Elm St. School May 17, 1935.
After the call to order by the president, an invocation was given by Dr. T. Wingate Andrews. The reading of the minutes was dispersed with because of the length of the program which was to be given.
The treasurer reported $1.87 in the treasurery. A report of the pictures made by Mr. Dodamead for the school was given by Mrs. Schroder.

The following slate of officers for next year was then submitted, and unanimously elected: President, Mrs. H. I. Coffield; Vice President, Mrs. Bob Sechrest; Secretary, Miss Margaret Andrews; Treasurer, Miss Mary Clegg.
A report of the state P. T. A. convention which was held in Asheville was then given by Mrs. Dan R. Schroder.
Mrs. Schroder then announced the program for the evening, which was contributed to by several grades.
