First WK at Ft. Bragg spent, I was miserable. Couldn't seem to ajust myself to minor mil. disptions. Came to Ft. Bragg on May 13-42. left under sealed orders on May 22. Arrived at Point of destination on May 23. Trip taking approx 26 hrs. They began to push us through the mill at rapid pass. qualified for M.E. or MA school. Had qualified for officers training at Ft. Bragg The first week spent in light drill, lectures, and issuing equipment more cloathing, gas mask, etc. Sunday May 31 a miserable day - have cold. temperture of weather about 100+. lt rains for 1/2 hour - then Hot as [Hades] for half hour. Then rain again

Finished Primary Training at Keesler Field Miss. June 9. Leaving for unknown destination today. Ritchie and I are getting seperated I sure hate it too. So I'm packing up this morning and getting ready to depart this afternoon.

Arrived at Roosevelt Field Thu afternoon June 11-42 Mineola L. I., N. Y.

BASIC DILLSWORTH I was slightely dazzled at all the stuff dished out to me. but as the last of the course came on I began to reconcile myself to the ordeal. To make the best of it. good instructor

STRUCTORS CARPENDER Nothing much to this phase. Studying general principals of structures from the wheels up, models designs of the different planes etc. McKibbens & Rodewell insist on staying drunk, but they arn't kicked out still have our original class menbers.

HYDROLICS AGNETA The best instructor I've had yet. I like this phase very well, and am going to be recommended for my work.

PROPELLERS PEATERS This phase not so hot. I get into a heated arguemet or discussion with instructor's [assistant] Carter. results - I lose not the discussion but in the end for Comments on my record. and my grade was docked 10 points. Lost Rodewell

INSTRUMENTS RIALK Lost McKibbens, Morris, in this phase, I know more about this subject than anyone so far, yet eke out only an 82. Cassady joins Class.

ENGINS GARSON Instructor on oritor, speeks frequently of death. A very nervous man. Here I get my first close look at the inside part of the engine. get an 86. should have been more
