My Dear Mother

Enclosed find N. T. Draft for 13.40 for items as follows:

Int on Note $500.00 I. Hoffheimer from Decr 30/86 to Mar 30/87 12.50

Bal due you (or sister) from N. T. Dft 7.00 sent - deducting 4.80 for Zephyr & 1.30 for Hdkf Ribbon etc. .90 [Total:] 13.40

Hoffheimer pays 10% this quarter & may do so in future but am not sure but he will want it for 870. Will do best I can. The cash value of security is $790.89. This gives a margin of nearly 60% above loan.

All are well. With love Your Son J. Hughes Fisher

My Dear Mother: Enclosed find N.Y. Dft for $10.00 being Quarterly interest, in advance on loan to Hoffheimer ($500.00) up to June 30th 1887. Was in hopes he would continue paying, as last time, 10% instead of 8% as originally agreed; but he made objection so let it go at same old rate. It is not so bad as Lasher says the security is ample and being paid quarterly in advance is an object. Love to all. Your son J. Hughes

My Dear Mother: I intended answering your letter last Sunday but L and I went over to 4328 in the afternoon. When I received Chas' letter it did make me want to go home but decided it was not practical just now.

I have been in new office three weeks and no doubt when I satisfy myself that I am doing all that I promised myself when I came I shall be well pleased.

Can not expect to do that yet. My idea in making change was to advance my own interests and advance George's by my assistance at same time.

We all regret that Lily is having such a siege of it and trust that improvement will be rapid. Suppose you heard that Grace had the measles, while at Aurora? think she is OK now & will return this week.

Saw in H.P. paper that "Home" was occupied, did you know it? H.P. is going to build an Episcopal Church soon. Love to all.

Your Loving Son J. Hughes Fisher
