Cool & cloudy when I left at 9, but sun out by Birmingham and fine the rest of the day. Below Camden, followed winding ridge through hills. Woods coming out. Room at Lincoln Ct. Monroeville Ala $4. Called Hazel.

3/31 Early coffee - slept well. Breakfast at Frisco City. [Down or Dawn] Eastside of Mobile Bay. Fairhope lovely with azaleas & wisteria. Ate in private yard by water. Daughter of old ill parents glad to chat. Left 98 at Foley for Gulf Shores, first beach. Picked up a few small shells. Night at Bacons by the Sea - dirty run down and expensive. 6.50 I should write AAA about them!
