11-19-44 "Ned" Mentioned he had An Assistant 12-21-44 "Ned" just Returned from few days in Scotland. 3-7-45 "Ned" has New Assistant: Emmett Rice √ still Flight Chief √ Pilot has total of Nine Aircraft Also Trains, Trucks, Etc + Recently promoted to Captain, 3-25-45 "Ned" Acting Flight Chief 4-12-45 Capt. Waggoner took "Ned" up in Airplane + let him pilot some. Surprized how he picked up on it "Ned" stated had lost most of his desire to fly himself. Flew over England but not toward Scotland. Cliffs of Dover Le Harve, France + More of France - Magnificent Trip - They did a buzz job, 4-13-45 "Ned" wrote to his Mother on death of Roosevelt.

4-20-45 "Ned", Raney & Nasser took pass to A.R.C. (Beach Bournessmorth) They enjoyed the pass. 5-2-45 "Ned's" group awarded The Unit Citation for work accomplished. Now have The Fourth Battle Participation Star. They have received all Four that have been awarded in this Theatre On "Ned's" ETO Ribbon are Four Stars. Battles and Campaigns! Air Offensive Europe, Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes, Decorations and Citations: EAMET Campaign Medal with SIX (6) Bronze Service Stars, Good Conduct Medal; GO #13 HQ AAF. sta. 157 - July 11, 1944 Distinguished Unit Badge GO #566 HQ 3rd Air Div. March 22,1945 Bronze Star. Medal (over on back)
