Jan. 1, 1905. Mr. Williams preached his Farewell Sermon. Jan. 2. Sam. half sole his first pair of shoes he was 16 years old. Jan. 3. [Pounded?] Mr. [word obscured] Whitaker, Protestant Preacher. A cold day. Snowed this morning. Jan. 4. Misses Mabel & Jessie Williams left for Ashboro. Jan. 5 A cold day. Jan. 6 Very hard rains all day. Jan. 7 Big trade to-day. Jan. 8. Mr. Whitaker preached at Auditorium. Jan. 9. I went to see Mrs. Whitaker.

Jan. 9 Charlie went to Lexington to [camp?] out. Jan. 10 Sam went to the Auditorium, the Lyceum to see the (Devil acted) to show where people are going if they act wrong. Jan. 11 Wood all cut by the engine today. Jan. 12 A rainy day. Jan. 13 Frank Lindsay took dinner with us to-day. Jan. 14 Cold day. Jan. 15 Misses Williams were in Town with Mr. Idol.

Jan. 16 Teachers club meets at Charlie's to-night. Bess is up there. Jan. 17 A pretty day. Jan. 18 Mr. Welch went back on buying store. I am glad. Jan. 19 Well well John settled the store Scrape this evening. Jan. 20 I went to the lecture that night - it was fine (chickens came home to roost). Jan. 21 Sam drayed at the store this week. Charlie is gone to Raleigh.

Jan. 22 A beautiful day. Jan. 23 Ida Lineback was married Sunday. Jan. 24 Your Father has gone to Thomasville (John Says a (dead business.) (It is for Mr. Fred Barbee.) Jan. 25 Dreadful cold weather. Thermometer stands at 8 above zero. Jan. 26 Still awful cold. Jan. 27 Edward is gone with Mr. Sechrest to Bethany to Mr. John Jones Burial. Jan. 28 A very pleasant day. Jan. 29 Charlie , Iola, Pauline took dinner with us to-day.

Jan 30 Bob takes Pauline to the Auditorium. 31 Mr. D. F. Lindsay brought Edd L. Siceoff home from a trip in the country. Feb. 1 Children said they had a fine trade to-day. Feb. 2 Maggie & Bessie are over at Mr. Whitakers to-night. Feb. 3 It is snowing fast at four o'clock. Feb. 4 A cold day. Feb. 5 Hailing all day very cold. Feb. 6 Sam worked in the book store this evening. Feb. 7 Very bad day.
