October 22, 1929.

The High Point Garden Club met Oct. 22, 1929 with
Mrs. McEwen as hostess. For this date the year book
suggested that each member bring an autumn
bouquet; and lovely roses, chrysanthemums and dahlias
were among the flowers brought.

Mrs. Jones opened the meeting with the reading
of a beautiful autumn poem. The roll call showed
twelve members absent. The minutes of the previous
meeting were read and approved with one addition.

A letter from Mrs. Tomlinson, state president,
asked the club to consider the matter of joining the
National Garden Club. A committee of Mrs. J. E. Cox
and Miss Ellie Cox was appointed to consider
such a move and to report at the next meeting.

The treasurer reported the year Books paid
for.

Our librarian, Mrs. J. E. Cox reported new books
purchased, to which members may have access and
requested that all books out be returned by the
February meeting. The extra year Books are also in
the library.

The corresponding secretary was asked to write
a note of thanks to the High School orchestra and to
include a check for $5.00. She was also requested
to express to Mrs. Ford our appreciation for the
arrangement of the very lovely bouquet presented
