chairman of the legislative committee, presented a
legislative program which was endorsed by
the Elm Street Association. This program
provides for (1) restoration of teachers' salaries;
(2) lengthen the term of the school to nine
months; and (3) strengthen the professional
requirements of the teachers. The treasurer, Miss
Mary Clegg, reported a balance of $20.10 in the
treasury. The Needlework Guild which has
recently been organized in this city was introduced
to the association by Mrs. Schroder. This Guild is
sponsored by the Woman's Club. Its main
purpose is to accumulate and distribute new
clothing to the destitute children of High Point.
Mrs. Morrison was appointed as director for the
organization to represent Elm Street School.

by Miss Frances Crary's
fourth grade. Following the play
