KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, that we, C. C. Carter
and wife, Margaret Edna Carter, parties of the first part, in
consideration of TEN DOLLARS ($10.00), paid to us by C. L.
Shoffner, party of the second part, the receipt of which is here-
by acknowledged, by ourselves, our heirs, executors and administ-
rators, agree to sell and convey to C. L. Shoffner, or his assigns,
for the cost of ELEVEN THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED DOLLARS AND NO/100
($11,400.00), the following described real property:

A certain tract or parcel of land in the City of
Burlington, Alamance County, North Carolina, adjoining Church
Street, and others

BEGINNING at an iron stake in the Northwesterly edge
of Church Street, 55 feet Northeast from the corner of George W.
Anthony and W. J. Burke, and running thence with the edge of said
Street, North 55-2/3 deg. East 60 feet to a stake; thence North
35 deg. West 175 feet to a stake; thence South 55-2/3 deg. West
60 feet to a stake; thence south 35 deg. East 175 feet to the
BEGINNING, upon which is located a dwelling.

This being the same property deeded to Ann Elizabeth
Mongomery, by Alamance Home Builders Association, by deed dated
Oct. 1, 1931, and recorded in the office of the Register of Deeds
for Alamance County, in Deed Book No. 101, at page 380.

The said C. L. Shoffner, or his assigns shall have
the priviledge of checking title to the above described property
and accepting the same on or before January 15, 1953, or within ten days thereafter when the
said party of the second part, or his assigns have notified the
parties of the first part of his, or their intentions to purchase
said property, Conveyance shall be made by a warranty deed convey-
ing a clear title free from all encumbrances, and at the time of
delivery of said deed, the said parties of the first part are to
be paid the sum of ELEVEN THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED AND NO/100
($11,400.00). All tenders and deliveries hereunder should be
made at the office of W. L. Shoffner, Attorney at Burlington, N. C.
