Apr. 29 — Cambridge-
I got hope this P.M. in time
to spend an hour at the {Botanical
Garden}. I haven't been there for
nearly two weeks. Found Mr.
Watson alone and had a
pleasant conversation with
him for nearly an hour.
He told me that the specific
name of was Cornus mas,
is a Pre-Linaean name and
means masculine, though its
application is unknown.
