Dear Rev. Lavely:

I am very sorry to hear you are
leaving us. I have enjoyed your services so, you
conduct them so well. It will be your loss, but
someone else's gain. I hope you have as many friends
where you are going, as you have here. The girls in
the Choir are going to miss you also. We all have
enjoyed your sermons and your thoroughness.

Being a Methodist myself, I know
I will miss your Methodist ways. You have always
expressed your purpose so plainly that we know we have
gained by your teachings. I will also miss singing
my soslos at your services. I did enjoy becuase you
were always so pleased and something nice to say to
us after service.

You have proved to us you are an
understanding man with an understanding heart. You
seem so to be one of instead of someone from "outside".
I only hope that the minister that takes your place
is half as understanding and kind as you have been.

May you have success in your new field
and new church and you and your wife find that happiness
you both so richly deserve. Though we did not have the
opportunity to know her well we feel that through the
various mention you made of her during services that she
was as a part of our life as you were.

God Bless You Both,

Sincerely Yours,
[Signed]
