11.

drove them back to Hull and the last
I heard they were doing well.
I made a personal contact with Mrs. Fahey
Head Nurse of the State Dept. whereby, I could
send one worthy case to her and she
could declare an emergency and
place them in the [Washing?] [illegible]
for a week. There are numerous
other things that I could mention but
this much is suffice to prove to you
that my heart and soul is in this
work of rehabilitation.

Altho, extremely tired and depressed
but not sitting in my room crying.
The depression is due, no doubt, to the
fact that I am mentally + physically
exhausted and it is still pouring rain,
after so many days plus the fact that
I have started my period again.

Did I mention [back?] that my case
will be placed before the adjudication
board and I will receive back compensation
for all the periods that I have been
hospitalized - this should date back to
1939 when I u spent [illegible] years at the
Brattleboro so "we" will win out dear.

Goodnight
Elizabeth

May God Bless + keep
you forever. We all need you
so much!
