I am not young any more
If I were, I would picket
the State House for you
Senator Lo Presti of the
North End of Boston
before passing his judgement
ought to be sure of what
he is talking about
I say it is black mail
I feel so bad after
reading the daily papers
I could not sleep that
night, if a girl is
sent to the Institution
not your fault, if the
girl committed suicide
your not responsible
it happens in jails quite
often - they make no cry
about it why [jump?] you

You Dr have devoted the best years of your
life, as Superintendent of the Reformatory
And done a good job, I am not able to get
around or I would stump the whole mess
here is my heartiest wish for you
May God grant you, the power to rise above
all they have done to hurt you
And right the wrong they have done you

Affectionately always to you
Bessie Thornton
