and I do so want to hear Dorothy Canfied Fisher.
Long before I came here, I read her books
and her characters are always so real and
her descriptions so vivid. having spent a summer
in Woodstock Vermont at the Inn I know something
of the Vermonters at the Inn. I know something
of the Vermonters or natives other than a good
golf course and delightful concerts in the evening
the was little to do but grand walks and
we did get acquainted with some of the natives and
on a tremendous hill there was an old man not unlike
Pop Warner. I believe I spent most of my
time at Plymouth which was only a ten mile drive
and as this was about eight years ago, and the
Presidents home was the center of all attraction and
a very attractive tea room was directly across from
the Coolidge homestead that is why her stories of
Vermont are so interesting to me. Mother too
enjoys her books. I believe there is one that
Mrs Fisher wrote using Poughkeepsie as a back ground
which mother enjoyed so. mothers people are
of Milbrook, just summers now, but originally lived
there of all seasons. All in all I just have to
get up and about. Do let me know your plans.
