to the cause by Miss Rice - Patsy came if for her share.
She ate a little pie to be sociable but ice icream is her dish.
I noticed in your letter that you are writing another
book - I have gone thru Parents on Probabtion recently
and wonder how you ever learned so much.
I am glad your son in law came home for a month.
He has a fine wife and should get along in the world.
You may be sure that we will not permit any
long delay in our case. I feel that Mr. T. will act soon.
He is too big a man and there was no need for him
to give us a false story about his intentions. I feel
satisfied that the letter Miss R. wrote will bring a prompt
answer. and I am sure a very favorable one. We
are inclined to always suspect the worse and
naturally so, as that has ever been our lot. This
delay has not hurt us any, as the Governor when
commuting a sentence of life or more has made
a habit of making the prisoners actually serve 15 or 16 years.
and there have been three or four such cases this year.
Perhaps soon if people do not fail, I will be
there to share the joy and peace at Hill Top with you.
It would be wonderful if only it comes true. It
is hard to imagine getting out of here all at once.
Soon I will have been in prison for fourteen years, so
long that I will have to start all over again!
Give my love to your charming mother. She is
about ready to visit Our farm again or should be.
What became of Edna M Kelly? A wolf get her?
Sending you my love and fond wishes.
Always Yours,
Russell McWilliams 5661-E
