87 — 1882 — — Nov. 27 — — Cambridge, Mass. — Mounted some plant this A.M. This P.M. James Greenough & I took a run on our bicycles for an hour and a half. We went to Arlington by Concord Ave, Wellington & Pleasant St. Then we went round Lower Mystic Road, taking the west side first. We had to go through a wood path and a large farm to reach the main road to W. Medford. We rode round some in W. Medford crossed the bridge, below the bridge that runs on the main road between W. Medford & Arlington, worked across to No. Ave., Lake St, Cross St, Wellington, Concord Ave, Well Lexington Ave, home. Distance a little over 13 miles. Distance since Sept. 17, 427 miles — I am unravelling a curious trouble about Hudsonia found at No. Conway. I have {Hudsonia} tomentosa from Miss Brown & Miss Mimms, from there. Now Mrs. Owen sends it to me from there where she got it this fall. The New Man. credits Miss Mimms with {Hudsonia} ericoides from that locality, but says nothing about {Hudsonia} tomentosa — It is probably a mistake, and should be {Hudsonia} tomentosa. I shall look it up when I go to the Gray Herb. next. ————— — Dec. 8 — Cambridge, Mass. — Bad weather severely since the 27 Nov. Snow. No wheeling. Packages of plants form J.A. Morton, J.N. Rose, J.B. He writes that it is the best set of Carices he ever received. Bad cold that past week. Mounted 35 sheets last evening the 7th. J.A. Allen called this evening in reference to some plants of H. Eggert.

Medford, Winchester, Woburn, Lexington, Waltham, Clematis Brook Station, Waverly, Belmont, Arlington and home by Wellington St. & Lexington Ave, as I went. Distance 30 miles.
