567 & 568 been named? is No.
1701 a variety of it?

In cleaning up my table
a few days ago, I found a letter
that I had intended for you — but
it was covered up before it was
finished & so you now receive
as it was disinterred. It is
almost in a fossil state.

What think you of my story about
the parasitical fungus? Curtis
may be able to throw some
light on it. I can carry the
investigation no further. It
seems pretty clearly to be of the
Phallus tribe.
