Northampton, 13 May 1817.

My Dear Husband,
I finished a letter to you, and gave
it to Cousin Daniel last evening, he has gone on to Boston this
morning in the stage. If in town on Thursday, you will probably
see him. I was a little disappointed not hearing from you,
by Mr. Whitney, who returned last evening.
I had a long letter from sister Edwards. We hear that her hus-
band has returned to his family again. I understand he was
expected the first of April. What a state of anxiety she must
have been in, his wife I mean. I went and spent an hour,
yesterday afternoon with Mrs Dwight. She was quite unwell,
but appeared very happy to see me. Eliza called for me, and
we went to the Govenors, he looks quite altered, he is very thin,
he inquired very particuarly afteryou, and gave me the
same advise that Dr Hunt did. You friends here are quite
disappointed you are not coming up, before I return.
Polly Pomeroy spent the first part of yesterday afternoon here.
Tuesday evening, I have spent the day at Sally's. She had at tea
Mrs L Strong, Miss Julia & Miss Hooker, also Mr and Mrs Storrs,
Father and Eliza, Mr Packard, Mr Whitney [H H?].
We had acard, to visit Mrs Jonathan Lyman, in a party, tomorrow.
Wednesday 14 May. We have this day, a Mantuamaker preparing
the wedding clothes, and tomorrow expect to finish all off.
I have just finished a letter to sister Edwards, to go by thursdays
mail. I shall add a few lines to this, from day, to day, untill
next wednesday, and then send it by the mail, should no
private conveyance offer. We had a note this morning, from
Mrs Johnson to take tea with her tomorrow, but refuse all
invitations of this kind. I am sure, I should be quite sick, if I accept-
ed all we have.

Love to all friends, from your affectionate L Pierce
A kiss for the dear little boys. Remember me, cousin H. Miss A- and Polly.
Love to Sarah, Abby, and Feroline. I hope they will soon see their Mother again.
