Mr Joshua Saunders Boston Octo'r 19th 1765
Sir
I rec'd your fav'r by the last post & was greatly surprizd to find
Miss'rs Harts have acted the part you represent, but I hope you & Mr Stevens will be
able to get payment for the Goods you have Supplyd them with to your full satisfaction.
I cannot by any means allow one farthing to be indorsd on the note which is solely my property, as was the Sloop before the Sale of her, & I consented to her being sold
on no other terms then that I should be immediately put in possession of your note
which was done instantly on its being given & has rested ever since in Mr
Howards hands as my Agent, the whole of this I thought was known to
you & Mr Stevens, this note must appear to you plain & Evidently
my property that I cannot think youl suffer any transaction between you
& Miss'rs Hart to occasion any delay in the payment of the money to me
I am
Your hum'l Servant
