for the poor boy & wife. I was all broken up to get such news. Aunt said Uncle was heart broken and left at, once, when he got the message & he will leave nothing undone to help the dear boy back to health. And you know how I love Jack & his brothers. I've spoken so often of them to you. Well, such is life. We are so thankful for good health in this Ranch. "Ga"

Must tell you some bad news. My Aunt in Mt. Vernon wrote the 7th that Uncle had gone to Cleveland two days before to see my cousin, Jack, who was seriously ill. He sent a telegram soon as he reached him saying he was a very sick man. Next day, sent another saying he was worse. I have not heard for several days & hope no news is good news in this case.

He has been married only 2 1/2 yrs. and has a baby 2 or 3 mos. old. I am so sorry

[upside down] I weighed 130 lbs. the other day. Isn't that fine? Can you come up to that?

Sunday p.m. Mar. 15 -1913

My dear sister:

Well, Is it still "raining aprons" down your way? That was quite some "shower" wasn't it? I congratulate you on being the recipient of so good a number. But do not, please, thank the Sherwins so profusely for their little part in it. Our aprons did not amount too muc compared with what we would like to have done and ought to have done to get even with you for all you've done + have to me. When I think of how dear you were to me during my sickness last year, I just feel as tho I cannot do enough for you. I can do so little now, but may be able to show my goodwill sometime.

You were the only sister I had then who could come to me & you let nothing stand in your way and I needed you so too.

As to sharing your aprons, Fiddlesticks! I have three brand new ones of my own & heaps of old ones that I want to wear out. So glad you are supplied for sometime to come. Wish I could have been present to see your face when the packages begun to come. It must have been some fun. Wasn't it strange that so many hit upon the same plan. Tell me what you thot when you opened the second & third pkgs. & found more aprons.

Your little Xmas present will be along someday. Just a little every day affair but it will wear well. It lacks a little finishing touch. I got a lot of edging early in Jan. thinking I had enough for it, but when Helen's things were finished, not a scrap was left. I have tried in Lankershim, but nothing doing. I'll get it done by & by I guess.

I got part of material for girls' little Xmas things but never got them finished. Was trying to "passe-partout" some little pictures.

As you may guess, we've spent every minute we could in sewing for Helen & really have accomplished a good deal. Have not much more to do for her but a few things for self & babies before she goes. I can get along with my work o.k. when alone but not much chance to sew with two babes tugging at my apron strings all day. We have made all her things because it is cheaper & better to do so & we have

enjoyed it all. The wedding will occur in April, about a month, hence, & the time will soon fly around.

Our trees are full of blossoms and fear this frost will get the fruit. Will put out pots & perfume to "smudge." Fred has vacation this week & will do that tomorrow. Oh, say, if you ever find the films of my tent, will you send to me for I want some pictures for my babes? Mary is awake now & I must get her, then get our Sunday eve. "tea" ready--hot biscuit, blackberry jam, tea & good rich milk to drink. We have a big dinner & just light lunch Sunday evening. "The newlyto-be-weds" are always here Sundays.

Now, let me hear soon how you are. Homesick to hear. How are all of you? What do you hear of Jack? How is Nettie?

Love to all, Myra S.
