Beautiful day am cloudy Mr E in at pm Monday, January 11, 1897 Up 8 am office at 9:30 am and read paper and the gazz work on various matters and went to City Hall and paid here for McCullen and also went to PO and back at 12 pm to dinner at 1:30 - 2 pm and back to my office and hard at work on such No 29 file by Carter today and got out the process therein work Chester files up [cover] law to pm here as this back jury work. [unde] work Jr. Hallens Depot 6:30 pm. Supper and assignments 7:30-9:30 office Jan [u] till 10:30 and then at work on Ross about which he brought to me today left office 12 pm

Rainy pm Tuesday, January 12, 1897 Up at 7:45 office 9:10 am and read paper and around corner and to PO at 11:15 am No. 9. In clerk's office and work 12 till pm There to Mrs. Turner's office to send back for [sign]atures and at Capt Loyds and to dinner 1:30 - 2:30 pm and then over town and around pay my bills and at Club Hershing for my lost coat [my] came for lost muffler the office and for what work. and pm Depot: supper. assignments till 9:20 pm. Went to my office and worked on [Ernest] report till 12 pm PO closed

Wednesday, January 13, 1897 Up 7 am office at 9 am Read paper and worked and then to PO at 12 pm Incl and no. 13 to Capt Loyds and sat with him till nearly 2 pm home dinner "solus". and office at 2:30 pm and there the whole [office] on Curthing seals and made out August -Dec that 5. and at 6:30 to depot and worked supper Then PO and home to supper. office 8-8:20 pm [grats] and back to office 9:20 pm and worked till 12 and finished work in much return. and then to PO #10. Home and to bed at 1:30 am. Went out

Windy after 11 am Thursday, January 14, 1897 Up 7:30 am office at 8:40 am and read papers and got ready for my trip. At depot 10:20 am M. came and [had] there 20 min then to PO with her and to parlor and till after 12 pm. Then to P.O. and found no 10 Back to H and talked awhile. Dined at Hall over then to P.O. again after seeing Dan and leaving him about why N. at my office at 3:20 pm and began No. 14. At 6 pm to depot [t] and not go to mail letter till 7:45 pm. All a day holds on plan. as Laneri's and [mm]to be at this Homer such luck tonight. Office 8:10 till 8:45. Depot 10 pm [dehors] one Left for dinner 10:35 pm. There 2:20 am Left for 2nd [ward] 3:00 am

Windy dark day Heavy rain pm Asst at my [work] Friday, January 15, 1897 Reads MW at 7:15 am walked home via PO on H (M has V.) got my mail and went home to [rhavs] thank at office 9:15 am and began work after reading and work no 15. 17th at clerks office at 1 pm and [gathered?] (1-11) and this is at Capt Loyd's house to discuss work then down to M and finished no 15 and is 6:10 pm at depot and mailed it. Then to PO and home to supper Then assignments and club till 10 pm and home and to bed at 11:30 very sleepy
