To the Honorable Mayor and City Council;

Gentlemen;-

I deem it proper at this time to call your attention to a
portion of my recommendation to your Honorable body, in my Annual report.

At the time I made my report I was under the impression that our
Aerial Truck could be rebuildt with quick raising device at a nominal
cost, and therefore recommended the purchase of a Service Truck.

During the International Ass'n meeting, held at Dallas last
month, I had the Manufactures come over and look over our truck, with a
view of ascertaining the approximate cost of rebuilding it, you will find
hereto attached a letter from them on the subject, in which they say
it will cost nearly as much as a new truck.

I would therefore supliment my Annual report with the following
recommendation, that the City purchase a seventy-five foot Aerial Truck,
and rebuild our old Aerial into a Service Truck.

I bring this matter up for the following reason, the rapid
growth of the business district with good substantial buildings
going up, and the hundreds of people in them who occupy them, should
never at any time be without the service of an Aerial Truck.
