To the Honorable Mayor and City Council:

We, the undersigned citizens and tax payers of the City of
Ft. Worth, respectfully petition your Honorable Body to grade that
part of the West portion of West Fifth street, by cutting down the
hill or high grade just East of Fahey street West of Fahey street, or other
wise grade the same, so that it will be suitable for travel. West
Fifth streetm at this point, washes very badly, and is often prac-
tically impassable for the travel of the public after an ordinary
rain. West Fifth street is the only thoroughfare to the West side
of the city Park between Weatherford street on the North and North
street on the South that is not traversed by street car lines,( in-
cluding the franchise granted for the use of Texas street by the
Arlington Heights car-line)
