Fort Worth, Texas. May 7th, 1906.

To the Honorable Mayor & City Council, City.

Gentlemen:-

Being a member of the committee appointed by your honorable body to investigate the sprinkling matter, beg leave to make the following report, after making an effort to meet the committee and failing to do so.

I believe it is to the best interest of the City to have the sprinkling done by contract, believing that it can be contracted for for much less than prices paid for it heretofore; and would recommend the sprinkling to be done by contract.

Upon investigation, I find that in case the City should undertake to do its own sprinkling, the aparatus required for same would cost as follows:

If seven wagons are required, with ten days' de-
livery, costing $329.00 each $2303.00
Seven teams at $300.00 each $2100.00
Seven sets of harness, at $40.00 per set $280.00
Making the cost of seven wagons, seven
seven teams, and seven sets of harness, $4683.00
If nine wagons are required, the two street washing wagons can be so equipped as to be used for both sprinkling and washing the streets.
Two extra teams would be required at a cost of $800.00
Two sets of harness for 80.00
Making a total Cost for the two teams and
two sets of harness, $680.00
A sum total for the entire equipment, of: $5363.00
R Respectfully submitted, C. G. Harrold

FORT WORTH. CITY WATER WORKS JNO F. LEHANE, Chairman Water Committee. H. L. CALHOUN, Secretary.

FORT WORTH, TEXAS May 7th,o6. 190 _________

Hon.Mayor and City Council.

Gentlemen;-

I beg to advise that the contractor Mr.Leversedge informs me that it will be about fifteen days before he will be able to turn over the new reservoir complete, but that he is willing for us to put the same in service now until we can make the proper connections with the Meade reservoir, after which he will then finish the new one

I am of the opinion that the connections should be made as soon as possible and be ready to place both the old and new reservoir in service at the earliest possible moment, as the hot weather will be on us in a few days, and I recommend that if Mr.Leversedge will allow us to place the new reservoir in service during the time necessary to make the said connection without such action on part of the city being understood as in any way an acceptance of the work, and without prejudice to the rights of either party, that I be permitted to take such action.

Respectfully submitted, H. L Calhoun Act.Superintendent.

I hereby approve the above L. S. Leversedge Contractor
