S P E C I F I C A T I O N S

for

WORTHINGTON DICS METER.

TOP CASE.

The top or main case is made of the best composition, carefully machined inside and out to receive the interior case. The inlet and outlet spuds, which are a part of the top case, are threaded to receive the standard couplings which are in general use.

BOTTOM.

The bottom is made of the best quality composition, secured to the top case by six galvanized tie-head bolts, the joint being packed with a soft fibre gasket.

ETERIOR CASE OR STON CHAMBER.

The Interior case (as are also the top and bottom plates of same) is made of composition, accurately machines and secured together by screws of Phosphor bronze.

PISTON.

The piston, which is made of a special hard rubber composition, is machined to make a perfect fit in the piston chamber, and has a spindle of Phosphor bronze which engages with the intermediate train.

TERMEDIATE TRAIN.

The intermediate train is composed of top and bottom plates of composition, secured by a post; gear wheels of the best composition and pinions of Phosphor bronze. All spindles, bushings and screws are made of Phosphor bronze. Secured to the bottom plate is a hard rubber control, against

which the piston spindle works. The pawl, through which the motion of the piston is conveyed to the train, is made of composition, securely fastened to a spindle which is run in a hard rubber bushing in the bottom plate. The spindle, which conveys motion to the clock, is also run in a hard rubber bushing.

The intermediate train is secured to the top case, and the spindle passing through the same is made water tight with cork packing.

STRAINER.

A perforated copper strainer is inserted in the top case so as to prevent any foreign substance from getting into the working parts of the meter.

COUNTER.

The counter is made of the best hard brass, has a white enamel dial and is secured to the top case by a composition bonnet which completely encloses the same, except at the top which is covered by a glass and composition lid.
