Gentlemen:

In the matter of attached petition of L.M. Whitsett, agent
for Mrs. S.P. Green, in which is asked permission ot do some excav-
ating in the alley which bounds the 6th Ward School propert, and for
other relief, I have the honor to report:

That the Street Commissioner and City Engineer went to the site of
the work, and informrd Mr. Whitsett that we could see no objection to his
excavation in the alley provided he filed proper documents releasing the
City from any damage to such work.

Such document is attached hereto, signed jointly, awaiting your approval.
