TO THE HONORABLE MAYOR AND MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF FT. WORTH: -

GENTLEMEN: -

The taxes on my property situated at 919 East
14th. street are due and unpaid for about seven years. This de-
liquency on my part is due to my property being assessed too
high as is shown from the following statement; Up to six years
ago I owned two lats at 917 & 919 East 14th. street, at that
time the two lots were assessed at $800.00; since that time
I have owned only one lot, 919 east 14th. street, and
the assessment on the one lot has seen for the last six years, from
$700. to $1000. The cash value of said lot today
is only $400.00. This matter was brought before the board of
equalization, but was too late for them to adjust, therefore
I come before your Honorable body and ask you to reduce said
assessment to a reasonable basis and I am ready and anxious
to pay my taxes.
