To the Hon City Council

Gentlemen

I would respectfully represent to
your Honorable body that the Board of Equalization
for the year 1901 raised my assessment about
2500.00 the term being cash - I rendered the
sum of five Dollars which [render?] was raised
to the sum of 2500.00 aforsaid.

That your petitioner had no notice of said raise
until he went to pay his taxes. That he
has always paid his taxes and has paid
all of his taxes for the year 1901 except on
said 2500.00

That he did not have in cash but the sum
of $52.50 & attaches hereto the certificate of
the First Natl Bank to that effect

Believing that injustice has been done him
& that the raise was illegal be prays that
your honorable body grant him relief
