TO THE HONORABLE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH.

Your Petitioner E.E.Tucker hereby represents that on July
15,1898 he paid on his city taxesfor the year 1896 to Frank D. Jones
who was then City Tax Collector,$25.00,shown be receipt hereto attached. That
since said time there has been paid on said taxes,$5.25 on lot 8 Live Oak Add making the total
of $40.25,paid on said taxes.That his real estate taxes due to the City
of Fort Worth for said year,amounts to $41.12 & [Dismal &pol?] $1.75 making a total of $42.87,
as shown by the statement of the Tax Collector,hereto attached.

Petitioner represents that through some mistake,Frank D. Jones
Tax Collector,failed to enter the said sum of $35.00 on the Tax Books
of the City of Fort Worth.That since said time he has attempted several
times to pay the balance of this taxes for said year,but the present Tax
Collector refuses to take the balance of the taxes, & mark the books so as
to show the taxes paid for said year.

Your petitioner prays,that the present Tax Collector be author-
ized and instructed to received the balance of said taxes and to make the
Books show the taxes paid in full.
