TO THE HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT WORTH:-

The petition of J. M. Garth would show unto your Honorable Body that since about the year 1892 your petitioner has been an invalid, and during most of said time confined to his room and unable to attend to business, and with no one to look after his business affairs.

That he owns a homestead in the City of Fort Worth, lots 2 and 3 block 1, Field's West Side Addition, of the probable value of $4500.00, and which has been assessed for taxes at a valuation, some years, as high as $8500,00, and always greatly in excess of its value.

That said property was sold for City taxes and petitioner was compelled to pay out $800.00 to redeem the same. That there is still $270.00 city taxes outstanding against the same, all of which really represents an excessive valuation.

Premises considered, Petitioner asks that said taxes be remitted.

J. M. Garth

We recommend that on payment of thirty five dollars the above property be released by the City from all taxes due the City — for 1899 & previous years.
