JOHN B. HAWLEY, HYDRAULIC ENGINEER. M. AM. SOC. C E CITY ENGINEER, FORT WORTH

FORT WORTH, TEXAS, Oct. 17th 1899

Hon. The Mayor and City Council.

City

Gentlemen:

Attached hereto please find payroll of labor on "Front and 17th St. Relief Sewer", built by me under your instructions.

The work was practically finished Saturday night, the 14th inst. in advance of the estimated time for completion, and, in order to enable me to pay off the laborers, the City Treasurer advanced to the City Engineer the sum of $196.50.

In addition to signing note for the amount, officially, I personally obligated myself to see it paid.

I ask that a warrant be drawn for $196.50, which included ¢35, interest), in my favor, (officially), so that I may take up the note given by the Bank.

Respectfully, John B. Hawley City Engineer.
