To the Honorable Mayor and City Council,

Fort Worth.

Gentlemen:

I herewith hand you my report for the quarter ending March
31st, 1899, with certificate from American National Bank, showing balance
to my credit as City Treasurer of One hundred and twenty thousand,
fifty seven thousand dollars,and seventy three cents.

I also hand you schedule of City of Fort Worth bonds ,owned by the
City,held by me as City Treasurer, giving numbers and series,amounting
to $200,000.

As this will be my last official communication to your honorable body
I beg to express my appreaciation of the kindly and courteous treatment
I have received at the hands of the Council and the several members of
the City Government with whom I have been in official association for
the past four years.

The custody of so large a sum of money is a great responsibility, and it
is a source of satisfation to me that I am preapared to turn over to
my successor all that has been entrusted to my keeping.
