a quart of faire water let them lye 3 days strain
out the water & put to it 3 quarts of rich

herbs dry to a pint of it put an ounce of suger
candy it is good for the stomach

Cold Sirfit Water Dr Bates

Three pound of Cardvus i pound of wormwood
i pound of spirmint chop them distil them
in milk

The Yalow Salve or Flower of oyntments

Rosin Perozen each halfe a pound virgins wax
Deers suit & olibanum each 4 ounces mastick
an ounce camphir 2 drams beat your gums very
fine doe them in a great skillit or Kettle melt
first your suit & wax then the gums one after
another then strain them (with a greasy wett cloth
or dish clout wett in dish water) into another such
skillet or kettle but first melt in it a little Deers
suit or oyle & alsoe 2 quarts of right white wine
warme it before you strain in your gums greas a
stick also to stir it with & stir it from first to last
elce it will burne it will boyle 8 howers if the wine
be good it must boyle till the wine be consumed which you may
know by droping a little of the salve upon any thing & when it is
cold take it ofe & work it in your fingers & if you find any wett
in it the wine is not wated when the wine is wasted take
it ofe stir it til it be scalding hot put in 4 ounces of venes
Turoentine & the 2 drams of camphir stir it til blood
warme then put it in a pail of cold water & work it into roles
which keep it in oyly paper euery role by it selfe

A Water for the scirvies

Garden scirvie grasse i2 pound beat & straine it fresh Briony
rootes 3 pound Horse redish rootes 2 pound winter Bark
halfe a pound scrape & slice all thes nuttmeg 4 ounces grated
30 Lemmons slices rihnds & all steep thes in 8 pints of white
wine 48 howers still them in a Limbech let it stand 2 or 3
weeks then take 6 spoonfuls with this folowing syrope mixt
with it euery morning a month together it is alsoe good for the
Black & yalow Jaundice

The syrope to take with the water

Brisk roots Assparagus Fennel smalage grasse roots each
an ounce wash scrape & cutt out the strings from the midst
of them slice them into quart of water let it boyle to a
pint strain it & put to it a pound of suger boyle it to a
syrope which put to the water

Mrs Pratts salve for sore Breasts Aches or to strengthen
Red Lead white pece+ Lead each alike beaten & scerced to
euery pound of lead a quart of oyl & halfe an ounce of camphir
sliced boyle the oyl & lead in a vessel to big by halfe stir them
all the while with a wooden thing let them boyle til they leave
frothing & will not stick to your fingers then take it ofe &
put out halfe & put camphir but to halfe of it make it up
in roles in cold water in hott causes use that with camphir
it is good for old sores if you boyle it to much it will not
stick ther must be a quart of oyl to euery pound of lead

For the Scirvies or Swelling of the Gumms Dr Bates
A peck of sorrel washt & dryed set it on embers in a dry pipkin
stir it til it be tender boyle it afterward with a little roach
Alum strain it thurow a seive mingle it with two or 3 spoonfuls
of clarified Hony & a little saunders put to it make it sweet or tart
according to the sorenes of the gumms the tartnes serches the
sweetnes heales rub the gumms with it & apply to the swelling
some lint spread with it remove it when you eate & wash
your mouth
