A Gargisine for the Quinsie in the throte Take a goode handfull of barlye beinge husked and boyle itt in faire runninge water: withe a chick untill the barlye breake, then putt thereto a roote or two of Langdebeefe two dates one handefull of ne reassons of the Sunn: a quarter of a pounde of figges two [ounces] of coorrance three spoonefulls of wheaton branne, and when these ar boyled softe straine itt and putt to itt an ounce of sugarr candye and holde of this a spoonefull or two att a tyme: as warme as shee can holde: in her mouthe five or sixe tymes a daye: Applye this undernethe the chinne Take, of violetts leaves of mallowes and cammamell of eache a good handfull boyle these untill they bee tender and putt thereto a lillie roote beynge rosted: stampe all these togeather and make itt in the forme of a pulltis: puttinge in att the laste three ounces of barrowes grease and as muche freshe butter withe two ounces of oyle of roses and use this untill ytt bee broken

To Make a powder to heale the Fistula Yow muste take a Redd doges heade, and burne itt to powder skinne heare and all, and make itt in fine powder: and use itt on youre tente: To make youre tente, you muste take verie fine lint and wett itt as yow role itt and drie ytt by the fier and by that meanes yow shall make itt as longe as you will, verie stiffe: as longe as the fistula dothe water ytt is nott killed: Butt when matter dothe come itt is keled: use to kill it a little fine coprose on the toppe of youre tente, This is the same powder that Halle dothe all cures withe. A greene salve to heale any wounde or cutte Take valerion sage and floppe: of eche like muche: and pounde them togeather: and Boyle them in Butter: then straine them, and after putt to itt some goode new waxe and boyle itt againe: and then itt is for youre use. probatum For annye swellinge Take malmesye redde rose cakes, sallett oyle, and cromes of levened breade, and boyle them togeather and make a plaister and Laye itt unto the swellinge and itt will heale itt probatum
