Teake a good quantety of fresh Butter or Barrowes grease and put therto a good
quantetie of Briony rootes cleane straped and lett them boyle together untill
halfe be consumed and more then straine it and anoynte the place, Yf you
will use it for an Atche put therto asmuch Comfery Rootes as Briony. /
A water to fasten the Teeth.
Teake Row Sage Rosmary and Marrigold leaves of eatch a quantety seeth
them in runninge water wth a littell Roatch Allom [?] Masticke Belarmemick
Bolarmemick and a good quantety of Honny and Wash your Tooth. Probatim.
For the Blooddy Flux or laske. /
Teake the Coales that hath binn burnt in a Smithes Forge wch he hath
doone wth teake them and putt them in Water wth a littell peece of Mutton
and make pottage for the sicke and it will heale them in thrise takinge. /
A medicin to anoynt anoynt the Belly or stommack for the Wormes
Teake two pounde of Sage Savage two pounde of Leekes: Teake a
pounde of Sallendine a pounde of Rosmary: of Fetherfew two pounde
of Tansey two pounde of Wormwood two pounde of Bearsfott two pounde
of Lavender cotton two pounde of Sothernwood you must chopp all these
very well smalle: Then boyle them wth a pounde of Maye Butter and
two beastes Galles Gawles you must boyle them but a littell and then
sett it in the sonne Nyne dayes then strayne it and put it in Boxes and
keepe it very close: you must make this medicin in the latter ende of Maye
and keepe the same all the yeare: /
To make a precious Oyle that is called the goulden Oyle, for it is good
for all manner of Aches and for bruses and for the Goute /
Teake a handfull if Sage, of flippe, Smallage, Lavender, Sothernwood,
Wormwood, Rosmary blossomes, Rose leaves Lavender cotten, Fetherfewe,
Singell Tansie longe dubbed Tanse Minte, Cammemill, Tyme, Oke of
Jerusalem, Mynts of Romanes that is a White Mynte Cowslippes blossoms
Pennyviall, Verven, Saviere, Margerum, Fsopp, Balme, Marrygold
leaves, Pionye leaves, dasie leaves, Baye leaves, Dill, of each one handfull
bruse them in a Morter, then put them into a fayer vessell of glasse, And putt
therto Oyle Ollife, the best that you can finde, a pottle or three quarts or
more, yf it be needfull, then let the vessell stand in the Sonne a Moneth
then putt it out into a fayer pann, and sett it one a soufte Fier of Coalles,
and lett it boyle songhtly and stirr itt still, then putt therto a quarte of white
Wyne, the best you cann Finde, then lett it seethe songhtly till the Wyne be
Washed, then take it from from the fyer and so lett it coole, then straine
it through a linnen clothe, and putt it into glasses and so use it as neede
shalle require, And yf it be well boylled you shalle knowe by this, lett
a dropp therof falle upon a Cole and yf it flame upp shine then it
is well, yf not boyle it tyll it doe, [?] . /
