Take a quart of alle or beire sett yt on the fire in a skillett and putt
therto a good handfull of fenell and 6 or 7 figg scraped and cutt in
pieces 2 good spoonfull of anyseedes and a litle safron putt all thes to
the drinke and let them seeth togither untill the liquor be more
then halfe consumed and in the seething skyme yt cleane and straine
yt into a bason and when yt is cold make a possett of the same
drinke and use to drinke hereof often and yt will cause the disease
to come forth will

Take yealow docke roote scrape away the outermost rind then
Slice them tak a good handfull therof and putt it into a gallon of
new ale so sone as it is tonned and when it hath donne working
drinke a good draught therof fasting every mornnig and fast
a good while after and this doe for the space of one weeke once in a
month or oftener yf you see cause
To make sorrop of roses
Take a pound of damaske roses and pull the same and putt therunto
a quarte of faire water then take halfe your roses and boyl them tell
thay are white then take them outt and putt in the rest to the
water and boyle the same till thay ar white also then take them outt
and putt into the watar th that remanneth one pound and a haulfe
of suger finely beaten then boyle them togither keping itt very
cleanly skimed till it come to a sirrope
