An oyntment for aches swellings and lameness
Take thyme Lavander, Cotton, runnings of strawberryes of each
a handful: cut them smale and beate them in a morter then take
4 or 5 yong swallows out of the nest and put them quicke
into the morter with the herbs and soe beate them together
untill you see never a fether whole, then take fresh butter
made in may clarified cleane, the quantitie of a quarte and
soe mingle it in the mortar with the herbs put it in a cleane
vessell and seeth it within 24 hours after according as the
other oyntments is sodden, and streined, keepe it in a faire
vessell and annoynt the patient therewith very warme and
[Lapp] him very warme afterward.

Another oyntment for a bruise or ache.
Take sage and rewe of each a pound of wormwoode bayleaves
of each [a pound] cut them smale and beate them in a morter then
take of sewet new taken from the sheepe and could [a pound] -
