Then take it from the fire and put out the water from the
barly an put to it againe 3 pints of faire fresh water
with a parsley roote and a fennell roote the pith taken out
and boyle it unto a pinte then streyne it and put it into a
glasse and use it thus Take 3 or 4 spoonefull thereof mixed
with 2 spoonefull of syrrupte of vinegar and use to drinke thereof
every 5 howers upon your good day; keepe your body soluble
with a suppositor once in a day if nature doe not his parte
therein, drinke alsoe of it upon your sicke day The day after
your fitt at 6 of the clocke in the morneinge take sene ounce half
and a good spoonefull of anyseeds grosely bruised and boyled with
a wine pinte of the broth of a chickin thinely sodde untill it come
to a full good draught, Then streine it out hard and make
it sweete with some sugar and soe blood warme drinke it at
one draught and neither eate sleppe nor sweate for 5 houres
after and the fever will away.

For the murre and cough whether the cough
bee of long continuance or noe

Take liquerice and mayden haire of each ounce ij dryed hisop
raisins the stones taken out and figgs of each ounceij dry anyseed drachm ij
ounce ij Infuse the bergs a day and a night in a pottle of springe
water and put thereto the other simples boyle them upon a
soft cleere fire untill the halfe bee consumed Then streine
it hard and to the said Decoction put of the best stone
honey pound i half and as much vinegar as shall best like the tast
of the patient, boyle them to a syrrupe and keepe it in a
nealed pott or glasse putting to it of Cynamon grossly bruised
and bound in a linnen cloth ounce i half. Let the patient every day
at 5 or 6 in the morneing take one spoonefull or two set
thereof warme letting it goe downe by little and little into the
throate that sometimes a drop may fall into the wesant it
will maruelously make it thinne and diuide grose flegme brake

The cough numdifie the lungs and the whole brest in a short
space.

To heale any running sore
Take sage leaves woodbine leaves rosemary and hysope of each a
like quantitie and stampe them very smale alsoe take mosse of
the black thorne and burne it and make thereof fine powder
burne alose a good quantitie of Alume and compund all these
togeether with honey and it will bee like a salve ley this to
any running sore and it will heale it.

For an ague
Take sage rosemary vervine hysope of each handfuli. stampe all
these together and drinke the iuyse with ale blood warme
an howr before the fit doth come let the patient then
lay him upon his bedd and cover him well with cloathes
useing this but 4 times hee shall have ease.

To knit sinnewes that bee cutt
Take red wormes either knit or unknit and rid out the blacke
dirte that is in them stampe them smale, and bringe the
synnewes together and let them patient keepe his legg or arme
streight but 24 howers with this layd unto it and the
sinnewes shalbe knitt.

For a stitch
Take stichwort and sea holly of each handful i of saunders one
spoonefull boyle all these in a pottle of stabeate (and alsoe
of bay berryes half a spoonefull.) till it come to a quarte
let the patient drinke thereof blood warm, then boyle all the
rest againe with wheate branne and lay it to the place where
the stich is as hot as the patient can suffer it and it will
helpe him incontenently.

For swellings in the body
Take the powder of ramsons and let the patient drinke it
itin white wineblood warme next his stomacke in the morneinge and let
him keepe him fasting 2 howers after and walke upon
it and this will heale hime.
