To make oyle of Swallowes:
Tale yonge Swallowes out of the neasts to the nomber of twentye & put them quicke into a morter & put unto them, lavender cotten & [spike] camomill, [buottonas], ribworte, balme, verven, rosemary toops, the toops of fine wood bine, the stringes of vines, [fraunch] mallowes, the toops [aleost] strabury [ptings], [tutpen], plantan, walnutt leaves, the topes of yonge bayes, Hope, violett leaves, sage of vertue, fine comene wormwoode, of each of all one handfull, of cammomill, of feedrosts, of each toe handfulls, of Cloves toe ownces beaten smale, a quarte of neatts foote oyle, all this must be beaten together in a morter wth the swallowes, & then put it an earthen pott closely covered & let it stand under the ground nine dayes, then take it upp & put into the pott halfe a pound of Virgin Wax & an other pinte of neates foote oyle & put the same pott into a pott of water & set it on the fier let it steeth in the same water VIII howers, then take it of & streyne it, & leave it for your usse. This oyle is good for sinowes that be [shroube] & shortened.

A very good recepte of the makinge of [grishe] aquavitye
Take fayre water & boyle it & put the same unto your maulte made of good barly, but your worke must not be boyled, then make [growte] & sett the same a workinge with barme, after let it stand the space of a month, then drawe the same into aquavitye & when you have once drawne it, you must put it agayne into the pott & drawe it anew & to every fowr gallones of the liquor, must be put a qter of a pownde of Aniseeds, then you must have a pownd of very good licoras well craped, Brused, & [knockle] & pulled out into smale spriges & well dried & then to be put in an earthen pott beinge very closely covered & the dust that commeth from the licoras layd on the toppe of the cloth & so sett under the limbecke to receve the aquavitye: when it is all distilled, you must put therunto agood handfull of Reysons of the Sonne, fower dattes halfe one ownce of Clooves, one ownce of Sinamon, toe ownces of Shuger Candy, a wispe of licoras, & a little Sawnders to cullower it, then [troue] it upp all together in a firkin & keape it to your usse. This quantitye of spice will serve to make eyght quarts of Aquavitye: It is olso to be remembered that halfe a qter of maulte will make yt: quartes of Aquavitye dubble drawen & the stronger the drinke is made, the more Aquavitye it will make:

To make surroppe of Violetts
Take your Violetts picke them & stampe them smale & put them into as much water as you thinke good, so let it stand all nighte, then take it & streyne it into a fayer dishe & to a quart of that water put in a pownd & a halfe of shuger, then sett it on a pott of water & cover it with a dishe & so make it boyle as you do a custorde untill it doth come to a surrope, skome it & so put it upp to your usse.

To make Joyce of licoras
Take a pownd of new yellow licoras, scrape it & slice it into smale peces, boyle it in as much Hope water as shall cover it thre fingers above the licoras, boyle it untill halfe the water be consumed, then streyne it forth the licoras & dry it in the sonne untill it be as qicke as will be put into a glasse, then put it continually in whott water untill it be as thicke as waye.

To make Sinamon water
Take halfe a pownd of Sinamon, bruse it some what, put therunto one pownd of shuger, then lay it to stipe into five pintes of Clarett wine, or sacke, the space of fowr & twentye howers, after that distill it in a limbecke with a softe fier:

To make Roosmary Water
Take V pintes of sacke or Clarett wine, halfe a pownd of Roosmary Croops, one pownd of Raysons the stones taken out, & steepe them in the wine wh with halfe a pownd of Sinamon [brousted] fowr & twenty howers, then distill it with a softe fier:

To make balme water:
Take halfe a pownd of licoras scraped & brused as much aniseeds brused & put it into fowr gallones of stronge ale with toe pownd of Balme wronge asunder betwen your handes, let it steepe one night then distill it:

A good Receyte to make [Matheglin] the rootts of as many of thees hearbes ar best
Take of thes yearbes & rootes gathered about michelmas or lammas: firste boorage, bittony, browne mintes, honnysuckles, egrimony, elicopane roots, pumitory, fennell rotes, Hope, [longuebiste], roosmary, [Avans] yearbe rootes calamus aromaticus Saynt Jons worte, Scabious, Time, Tummintill, ofeach of all thes toe handfulls. Camamill, egliatt or biromest, galinggale rootes, hartstongue, eyebright, marigoulds, margerum, mugworte, monseare, organy, parsly, vervin, woodbine leaves, wallcreace, of each of all thes one handfulls. Bayleaves, eglentine, sageworte, of each of thes forowe handfulls. When you have gathered thes yearbs & roots, make them [thery] cleane that no earth be lefte uppon them you must have care to slitt the fenell roots & take out the harts stringe which groweth in the middest. Then take the quantitye of yearbs & roots above named & put them in a furnesse, if your furnasse be bigge enoughe, you may put to thes yearbs & roots toe hundred gallands of fayre water or more, then make a good fier under it & let it boyle the space of thre howers, then take the liquor from the yearbs & put them into an other vessell, you must do it with a clensinge steame, when your liquour is cleane out then take out the yearbs & make the furnasse cleane: when you have so done take your honney & put to every gallond therof toe gallons and thre quarts of the sayd liquor, then boyle them together & before thay boyle to fast, skume it cleane as it doth arisse & when the first great skume is gone, ther will arisse an other somewhat blacke, have care to take that cleane away, then abate your fier, and put your liquor into [stales], let it stand therin at least toe dayes, then put it into a colinge [vaute] & put therunto a Gallond of the best barme sturr them together, then let it stand so one or tooe dayes, when you so done [pleate] of the barme & stirr it together agayne & let it stand an other day, that beinge done skume it cleane & [tunnie] it upp in your vessels, then dresse the bonge holles as you do for sider, & as thay worke, fill them upp agayne, with the same liquor, & when it seaseth stopp them upp close: so shall you have good metheglin & you may drinke it within the space of a month: Probatum est.

A good way to make oyle of Roses
Take one quarte of fine Sallet oyle, put it into a glasse & put to that oyle thre or fowr handfulls of Rooses cutt smale, sett it in the sonne ten dayes then streyne it & put more rooses to the oyle: Do this tooe or thre times it will be very good. This may you make all other Soorts of oyles as dill, camomill, violetts & such like.
