During these days there were many money-amking projects and among them was
a play, "Backelor's Revery" put on at the Munroe Opera house under the
auspices of the Women's club in October, the year undetermined. Mrs. T. M.
Shackleford was the reader, and the first scene was the library of the
bachelor, the bachelor bing Gov. Albert W. Gilchrist, the Baby Sweetheart
being Carolyn Lively, and the Mudpie Sweethearts, Elizabeth Lyrd and
Lonegeton Whitfield. The girl who turned him down in spelling class was
Gertrude Levy. The first part of the program was a musical, and those participating were Misses Tatum and Myers,Overture;
