The Flower Show is held under the auspices of the Conservation Department of the Women's Club whose aim is to develop greater interest in plants and flowers that can be grown in our community, and in their use in its beautification.

CLASSIFICATIONS FOR JUDGING

CLASS 1 -- ROSES 1. Single blossom. 2. Three blossoms. 3. Arrangement of roses.

CLASS 2 -- SWEET PEAS 1. Varieties and colors competing separately. 2. Best arrangement of sweet peas.

CLASS 3 -- ANNUALS AND PERENNIALS 1. Annuals -- Each variety competing separately. 2. Perennials -- Each variety competing separately.

CLASS 4 -- BULBOUS AND TUBEROUS ROOTED PLANTS 1. Cut flowers. 2. Growing in Pots

CLASS 5 -- POTTED PLANTS 1. Ferns. 2. Flowering plants. 3. Ornamental foliage plants.

CLASS 6 -- FLOWER ARRANGEMENT 1. Most artistic arrangement.

CLASS 7 -- DECORATED TABLES 1. Most artistic table seating four people.

CLASS 8 -- WILD FLOWER EXHIBIT This exhibit is arranged by Miss Schornherst, Dr. Raymond Bellamy, and Dr. Herman Kurz of the State College for Women.

CLASS 9 -- GARDEN CIRCLES 1. Best exhibit by Circle.

RULES

The following rules have been adopted and each exhibitor is requested to read them carefully before the day of the show.

1. Any resident of Leon County may enter exhibits.

2. All cut flowers and plants must have been grown by exhibitor.

3. All flowers competing must be in place by 2 P. M., Wednesday, April 30th. Judges will take charge at that time. The public will be admitted at 3 P. M.

4. There will be nine competent and impartial judges.

5. Each exhibit must have card attached bearing name of flower or plant.

6. All awards except Sweepstake Prize and prize for best Garden Club shall be ribbons--blue for the first, red for second and white for third. Sweepstake Prizes of $5, $3, $2 shall be awarded for the greatest number of blue ribbons. A prize of $7, $5, $3 will be given for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd best Garden Club exhibit.

7. No exhibit shall be removed from the building until the morning after the show without special permission.

8. If only one flower or plant is entered in any class, Judges shall reserve the right of consideration if such exhibit is worthy of ribbon.

9. The management will do all possible to protect exhibits but it will not be responsible for loss or damage.

Points considered by Judges--Uniformity, artistic arrangement, quality.

All exhibitors are requested to call as early as possible the day after the show for their flowers and containers.
